The National Supercomputer Center of Armenia was inaugurated in Yerevan, housing the region's first supercomputer, named "Aznavour." Located in the Engineering City, the Center aims to advance research in the fields of industry, education, and science.
Nicolas Aznavour, the Co-Founder and Chairman of the Aznavour Foundation, attended the inauguration event and highlighted in his speech: “My father had a strong interest in technology and innovation alongside his musical career. He always looked at the technology as a tool to create and find new ideas, and started using it from 1980s for writing and recording music.
My father would be honored and inspired by the decision to name the first supercomputer in Armenia after him. I hope that this supercomputer will empower students and researchers to achieve significant breakthroughs, just as Charles Aznavour made remarkable contributions to the arts and humanitarian causes”.
