Official ceremony for the redemption of stamps dedicated to Charles Aznavour
Today, on May 30, during the official opening ceremony of the annual "Philex" philatelic exhibition in Paris, a beautiful one-stamp sheet dedicated to Charles Aznavour was issued by "HayPost" CJSC, alongside a stamp issued by the French national postal operator "La Poste." These stamps were created and issued in cooperation with the Aznavour Foundation. The "HayPost" CJSC stamp features a photograph of Charles Aznavour taken by his son, Nicolas Aznavour. The "La Poste" stamp was designed by Hom Nguyen, inspired by a photo taken by French-Armenian photographer Roger Kasparian. The official ceremony for the redemption of these stamps, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Armenian national hero, French Legion of Honor recipient, and world-renowned artist and public figure Charles Aznavour, was attended by Hasmik Tolmajian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to France; Philippe Wahl, Director of the French national postal operator "La Poste"; Arayik Abrahamyan, Chief Executive Director of "HayPost" CJSC; Artak Ghulyan, Deputy Chief Executive Director of "HayPost" CJSC; and Lydia Kasparian, daughter of the French-Armenian photographer Roger Kasparian. This year's "Philex" philatelic exhibition is dedicated to Armenia.
