Relocation project in Gyumri
After the devastating earthquake of 1988, Charles Aznavour arrived in Armenia and provided humanitarian assistance to those affected by the disaster. In the following years, he continued to support Armenia through his association «Aznavour for Armenia». Afterward, together with his son Nicolas Aznavour, they created the Aznavour Foundation to continue initiatives started in 1988 and to carry on with new projects.
New house for the Soghonyan Family
New house for the Hakobyan Family
New house for the Ghazaryan Family
New house for the Big Family of Malkhasyans
Starting in 2018, the Aznavour Foundation launched a relocation project offering new homes to families affected by the 1988 earthquake and living since then in temporary shelters in Gyumri. Almost 200 people have already received decent housing as part of this project.
This initiative has become possible thanks to the contributions of numerous donors who have thus joined Charles Aznavour's mission. We are grateful to our donors for the continuous support.
The Aznavour Foundation plans to continue to implement this and many other projects aimed at encouraging young people to live in their own country and work for its well-being. We are open to welcoming new partners who share the same values.
