The Aznavour Foundation places great importance on institutional efforts to preserve and improve mental health. This is why we are proud to be a partner in the modernization project of the National Center for Mental Healthcare.
Launched in 2021 by the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the modernization project has already resulted in the renovation and re-equipping of three buildings. The Aznavour Foundation contributed 131 million AMD to provide technical equipment and furnishings for these renovated facilities.
On May 6, the reopening ceremony of Psychiatric Department No. 1 was held at the National Center for Mental Healthcare. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the event, joined by Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, representatives of the medical center, and the Aznavour Foundation. During the visit, they toured the renovated facility and became acquainted with the work completed as part of the project.
During the speeches that followed, Karine Evoyan, Deputy Director of the Foundation, noted:
“In 2023, we celebrated the opening of the newly renovated and fully equipped kitchen building, made possible with the support of the Aznavour Foundation. Today marks the completion of another significant phase of the program. It is heartening to see that the substantial improvements to both living and therapeutic conditions will enhance the effectiveness of treatment processes and support patients’ recovery.”
We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our partners who made this project possible: the Ordre de Malte association, SOS Christians of the East, the Avakian family, and the Pierre Fabre Foundation.
