Modernization of the
National Center for Mental Health
Despite all the efforts, the subject of mental health remains stigmatized in Armenia.
In addition, the dilapidated state of mental health establishments and the quality of treatment do not allow for adequate patient care.

With a long-term goal of supporting mental health awareness and de-stigmatizing the subject, the Aznavour Foundation joined the initiative of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia to completely modernize the “National Center for Mental Health”.
The “National Center for Mental Health”. is the largest mental health institution in Armenia, serving the needs of approximately
2,500 patients each year.
After more than 30 years of existence without renovation, the institution requires a complete transformation, including major reconstruction and provision of new equipment.
The project was made possible thanks to the support of the association "SOS Chrétiens d'Orient", AGBU Switzerland and other donors.
The project is implemented in cooperation with the RA Ministry of Health.
